Forget the fact that driving terrifies me...

I want to take a roadtrip. Just throw a few things in my 70's plaid suitcase (yes, duct taped and everything) and just GO. Seattle sounds nice... I've got a jacket, and I've got an ipod. What else does a girl need??

For some reason the thought of not being able to do this makes me want to cry.

  1. Why are you not able to do this?

  2. One sympathizes. That's pretty much all I ever wanted to do for most of my teenhood. I've only experienced the roadtrip thing in small doses, never a full blown one by myself, which, despite enjoying the company of others, I would probably prefer. And will do, hopefully, sometime this year and then again when I go East Coastin'.

Once you get your license my dear all of the doors open, really. You'll be amazed at the freedom you'll have, even if your parents might be a bit reticent about letting you wander off to Seattle ;)

  3. Well, in a few years maybe I can... I just have a lot of stuff going on this year (including summer) that won't allow it. Which is very sad.

  4. Jesse and I had so much fun on our Napa wine tour that we got an idea. When you turn 21, we would LOVE to take you, and Kate, and Jon and Megan, (and whoever you and Kate may be with by that point) and do a road trip up there all together. We could camp in Big Sur, maybe even take you to Hearst Castle (you would love the place), laugh at elephant seals fighting on the rocks, search for whales, hike some trails, spend a day or two in Napa pretending we're all wine connoisseurs, and have a blast. Wouldn't that be fun?

    That's what we're thinking, anyway :)

    Love you!

  5. Ahh, ok. I've always wanted to do a spur of the moment one. But never had the courage, because I know I'd get too homesick.
